My wife and I staying in Bellavista cottage for a week and thoughly enjoyed our stay there. Bart's buiilding is very conveniently placed to explore Valparaiso, it is a short (steep) decent into the main square of the city centre, all is a few minutes walk away, including a full sized super market.It is in a safe area and we were totally at ease walking around at night. The views are superb, bring your binoculars as there is plenty of shipping movement to observe.This city is a joy to explore, it is full of hidden architechual gems and our week went by too quickly. Bellavista Cottage is spacious but the real gem is Bart himself, he's very entertaining company and a good English speaker, this in a city where this is not common...and very helpfull if you are planning futher movements.We arrived three weeks after the major earthquake in the south of Chile but in Valparaiso this did not impact upon us at all.
Bart does deliver the "Valparaiso Experience", the greatest compliment my wife and I can pass is to say that when we are next there we will want to stay with him again.
